Elgin Cathedral
Towers Stone Display

Versatility and problem solving

Elgin Cathedral Towers Stone Display
Historic Scotland, 2015-16
Concept / Design / Artworking / Project Management / Digital Database consultation

This project represented a logistical challenge due to the space being used, the objects to be displayed and timescales.

Being situated in two tall, narrow cathedral towers, only accessible by spiral staircase or scaffolding, it was important to work closely with the production and installation team to make sure the proposed design would work.

I was involved in the development of the colour scheme and materials used – opting for painted laminated play with beautiful exposed edges that complimented the colour of the stones – and the technically challenging hung graphic panels, so they could be moved and adjusted to work around the stones.
